Catherine C. Hilner
Caterine C. Hilner, 80, Topeka, died Thursday, May 13, 1999 at a Topeka
hospital.
Mrs. Hilner was an office manager and secretary for the YWCA for 22 years and
later for the Westminster
Presbyterian Church for many years before she retired.
She was born Sept 15, 1918, in Lawrence, the daughter of James and Agnes
Stanwicks Cummings. She moved
to Topeka with her family when she was 7 years old. She graduated from Emporia
State Teachers College.
Mrs Hilner was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Chapter DN of the
PEO Sisterhood. Group XI
at Central Congregational Church and Arch 3.
She married Ray Hilner on Aug 8, 1953. He died May 20, 1980.
Survivors include a sister, Patty Beason, Topeka; and a brother, Gene Beason,
Topeka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will
be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs Hilner will lie in state after noon Saturday at the funeral chapel where
relatives and friends will meet
from 6 to 7 pm Sunday.
