General Affidavit
State of Texas, County of Grayson.
In the matter of claim for Pension widow of Wm Standerfer deceased
Susie Standefer
On this 24th day of April, A.D. 1905, personally
appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for the aforesaid County, duly
authorized to administer oaths
Mary E. Williams aged 44 years, a resident of Denison
in the County of Grayson and State of Texas whose Post-Office
address is 317 West Crawford Street, Dennison, Texas and
Lizzie Standefor aged 78 years, a resident of Denison
in the County of Grayson and State of Texas whose
Post-Office address is 317 West Crawford Street, Denison, Texas
well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly
sworn, declares in relation to aforesaid case as follows:
Each say I Mary E. Williams and I
Lizzie Standefer do hereby testify that I personly knew said William Standefer
Co. H. 18 Reg Ill Inft Vol from the time that he was a very little boy until his
death which was the 11 day of last Aug the fact of which you are already
accquanted the said William Standefers mother having died when he was about 9
years old and I married his father Franklin Standefer about one year after wards
and had the care of twins and three brothers and one sister until they were
grown and said William Standefer and two brothers Enlisted and joined the army
in the civil war and after the close of the war they returned home I also
knew him again and when he was about 23 years old he was married to
Margarett N. Peters near Sulivan Ill as we were living at Illinois at that time
said William Standefer and Margarett N. Standefer had one son Zacarrah Standefer
they lived together only about 5 years when they separated from causes unknown
to me and were afterwards divorsed and hadnot marry again until he was married
to Susie Farnsworth at Danville Ill of which you already know and I have
personal known of them both nearly all of the time since they were married which
will be 27 years next Nov and that she is still his widdow his Father has been
dead several years and all of his Brothers and sister William Standefer being
the last one to die making 9 children and Father and Mother all gone.
I am 78 years old step mother of William Standefer.
