GENERAL AFFIDAVIT
JAMES S. STANDERFER
From a General Affidavit to a
Notary Public, State of Oklahoma, County of Pittsburg made on February 10, 1917
Personally came before me, a Notary
Public in and for the aforesaid County and State,
William E. Standerfer, aged 54 years, whose address is Hartshorne
State of Oklahoma well known to me to be reputable and entitled to
credit, and who, being duly sworn, declares in relation to aforesaid case, as
follow:
That he knew James S. Standerfer, of Company H 18 Ill since he was about twelve years of age, and was present when the said James S. Standefer died about fifteen miles from Hartshorne, Oklahoma, at what was known as the Southwestern States Lumber Company's saw mill , that said James S. Standefer died about the 22nd day of August, 1913 and this affiant was present at the time of his death and viewed his remains and was at his funeral and assisted in laying his remains away

Standerfer who was born in Moultrie County, Illinois in 1863.

Personally came before me, a Notary Public in and
for the aforesaid County and State,
William E. Standerfer and Lee James,aged 54 and 26 years,
whose address is Hartshorne State of Oklahoma well known to me to
be reputable and entitled to credit, and who, being duly sworn, declares in
relation to aforesaid case, as follows:
That these affiants were present at Southwestern States Lumber Company saw mill, about 15 miles from Hartshorne, Oklahoma, on the 22nd day of August, 1913, when the foregoing named James S. Standefer died; that no Doctor had been in attendance treating said decedent for several days before his death, and so far as these affiants know there is no public or official record of such death; that these affiants were well acquainted with the decedent, viewed his dead body and attended and assisted in his burial; that the remains were laid away in the Gademy Cemetery 25 miles in a southerly direction from Hartshorne, and no undertaker was in attendance.
The said William Standefer, for himself says that he purchased the coffin in which the decedent was buried at the Will Craig Undertaking establishment at Hartshorne, Oklahoma, and conveyed same to the home of decedent.
